Summer has hit Dubai in full force, with temperatures reaching close to 50 degrees Celsius recently!
If that sounds pretty bad now, it'll seem almost chilly compared to the forecast for the next few weeks. According to the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology, summer temperatures will continue to stay in the high 40's throughout the country, reaching as high as 48 degrees in the internal areas. However, soaring humidity levels (upto 90%!) will make it feel like it's a sweltering 64 degrees Celsius!
It's extremely important to drink plenty of water throughout the day, but that alone won't cut it. We recommend adding a few fruits and veggies to your diet that can help you stay hydrated and keep your cool this summer.
Cucumber
They don't say 'cool as a cucumber' for nothing! A few cucumber slices with every meal (or even as a midday snack) can really refresh your day.

Celery
Commonly used to offset really spicy foods, celery is rich in nutrients and keeps the body cool.

Tomatoes
Tomatoes are one of the healthiest foods around, so it's no surprise that they're also good for staying hydrated in the summer months.
Watermelon
Definitely the king of summer fruits, watermelon is one of the best ways to beat the heat, whether eaten raw or juiced.

Pumpkin Seeds
In addition to water intake, it's important to keep the body's electrolyte content in balance. Munch on a few pumpkin seeds for an electrolyte boost.

Kale
Kale is another good source of electrolytes (among many other benefits); spinach can help balance the salt content of the body too.

Sea Salt
If you've been sweating a lot over the course of the day, add a few sprinkles of sea salt to your food (or in your water bottle) to keep your electrolyte content balanced.
