Even though Geneva is not usually spoken of as being a culinary destination, I learnt otherwise during my short 3 day visit.
I visited 3 outstanding restaurants on each of my 3 nights there, my favorite being IL LAGO at the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues Geneva.
When the chef SAVERIO SBARAGLI at IL LAGO created his menu, he made sure there were a couple of great vegetarian options listed. I ordered and thoroughly enjoyed the "Traditional Tomato Risotto," which consisted of green zebra, red steak and pineapple tomato, tomato foam, onions and radish, among other ingredients.
When I met the chef at the beginning of the meal, I told him about my blog and requested him to create something special as an appetizer. He happily agreed and the result consisted of 2 beautifully presented dishes which tasted even better than they looked. For the amuse bouche we had a Tomato Variation with Provola (smoked mozzarella), followed by the appetizer of eggplant and zucchini cooked with mint and Parmesan.
I encourage you to pay a visit to this fabulous restaurant if you are ever in Geneva!
