Bordeaux, much more than just wine...
If you've been following @veggiebuzz on Instagram, you have probably noticed that I've been posting a lot of food pictures from Bordeaux, all of which were taken on my trip there over the summer. It is common knowledge that Bordeaux is known for its great wines, however this post is just about its phenomenal food!
Aside from the fact there are at least 13 Michelin starred restaurants in the city, many of the Chateau's also have outstanding chef's. During my stay there, the food just kept getting better and better!
All foodies whether vegetarian or otherwise, should definitely visit Bordeaux for its unique dining experiences, and you may get some great wine as well ;)
Although each of my dining experiences were quite special, my personal favorite was at Chateau Cordeillan-Bages, a two star Michel restaurant, where each of Chef Jean Luc Rocha's creative and sophisticated vegetarian dishes left me in suspense of what I would get next!
Of course, if you are vegetarian, be sure to call ahead and inform the restaurant of your dietary preferences to get an exceptional tailor made seasonal menu just for you! Since this restaurant is located just on the outskirts of the Pauillac region, it is a perfect lunch stop before or after a wine tasting in the area, perhaps at Chateau Lynch Bages, which happens to be owned by the same family.
If you are lucky enough to visit Bordeaux, make sure to also check out Le Gabriel and Le Pavillon des Boulevards.
