We're not sure exactly when food trucks became so cool - they just did. They have taken over the food scene in cities around the world and Dubai is no exception. From food truck festivals to food truck parks, they don't seem to be slowing their roll in providing us with an array of eclectic, gourmet options for cheaper-than-average restaurant fare.

The latest food truck hotspot is the 1950's themed Last Exit. Conveniently, on Exit E11 (direction Dubai), it's an ideal pitstop for some road trip grub although it's honestly worth the drive out itself. We've lined up the 6 most veggie friendly trucks - so you know just where to beeline towards once you arrive.

  1. D.O.N. Pizza
You can't go wrong with any type of pizza - but when it's Neapolitan style, you know it's going to be pretty spectacular. For vegetarians, keep it simple with the Margherita, amp up the cheese with the Burrata, pile on some veggies with the Vegetariana or get classy with Funghi and Tartufo. And if you're not that hungry, their Neapolitan-style street food Montanara Fritta is basically a smaller, deep-fried pizza.
  2.  Clinton Street Baking Company

From veggie burgers and sandwiches to mac and cheese and brioche French toast - the vegetarian options at Clinton Street Baking Company are comfort food carb-y goodness.

  3. Poco Loco

Ay caramba - you'll find all your favourite Latin dishes at this food truck. Any time is Huevos Rancheros time and their guacamole, roasted mushroom tacos and chili poblano rellenos (poblano chillies stuffed with cheese) are all must tries!

  4. Operation:Falafel
Surely we don't need to explain that this is a vegetarian dream. One of the city's best falafel joints, the Operation:Falafel food truck is serving up their delicious salads, stuffed falafels, falafel wraps and manaeesh.
  5. Il Caffe Di Roma

The authentic taste of Rome from a food truck? Nothing is impossible. They've got a decent amount of vegetarian pasta options as well as mozzarella sticks, salad and panini.

  6. Baja Fresh
It's a Mexican fiesta at Baja Fresh with all your favorites - fajitas, burritos, tacos, quesadilla, quest fundido and nachos! Load up on the veggies and lay off the cheese and sour cream if you're vegan.
