To all the Cereal Killer Cafe haters...

Seriously guys, stop being haters and let's be reasonable here.  Sure, a box of cereal is only gonna cost you AED 18-20 at a supermarket... as opposed to the AED 20 you would pay for the regular bowl (with 2 kinds of cereal) at the Cereal Killer Cafe, but how often are you really gonna buy yourself whole boxes of sugary fruit loops, flavoured cheerios and cocoa puffs all at the same time?    Not that I am advocating sugar or even this combination, but my point is how often are you gonna have over 100 cereal choices available to you in one sitting, and that too, in the midst of a shopping spree at Dubai Mall?

Regardless, do you really want to have a couple of massive boxes of that sugary cereal around the house at all times? You definitely don't wanna be eating that on a regular basis, and you probably don't want your kids to do that either.  Instead, why not make it a treat once in a while?

You don't even have to get the sugary ones, you might simply want to experiment with a cereal that you haven't bought before, or simply have a healthy breakfast or snack on the go.

You can buy a loaf of bread, a tomato and some cheese for AED 20 at the supermarket, but I don't see you complaining about paying AED 25 for a grilled cheese sandwich at a Dubai Mall cafe...  You can buy a bottle of wine at the airport for the price of what you'd pay for a glass of the same wine at a restaurant, but that doesn't stop you from ordering it....

Give the poor guys a break, they have to pay rent for that prime location behind the Dubai Fountain as well as a franchise fee.  Besides, its a fun concept and your kids can get creative.  They can top it off with all kinds of fun toppings like marshmallows, m&m's and the works, or perhaps they can have a cereal shake with caramel and whipped cream, all while lounging on a colourful "bed" that overlooks the fountain.

I for one am quite excited that I can have an express vegan breakfast consisting of a cereal I wouldn't normally buy, accompanied by my favorite plant based milk.  And then, I'll get back to shopping...
