Royal China: It was ok
Royal China is a London-based restaurant that's taken root in Dubai. The decor is very simple, with lots of wooden accents. It's different from the London outlet, but very inviting.
The food's also quite good. The starter of Szechuan Hot and Sour Soup started off the meal on a good note, and the Tofu wrapped in pancakes had a nice flavor and texture. It was great dipped in hoisin sauce. Things faltered a bit in the mains. Braised bean curd was tasty, but String Beans in Spicy Sauce were overseasoned and the Pan Fried Noodles were just ok. For dessert, there was a very nice Tapioca Rice Pudding.
It was enjoyable overall, but could do with some attention to some of the flavors.
