The Most Festive Veggie-Friendly Christmas Dinners in Dubai

Christmas and the New Year are a time to celebrate family, friends and of course, food! Restaurants all over the city get into the festive spirit as well, offering special holiday-themed menus. Now we know the prospect of a lavish turkey dinner doesn’t sound too exciting, which is why we’re so glad that many of them offer festive veggie options as well!

Here are some of our top places to enjoy a #Veggiebuzzing Christmas dinner!

1. Vivaldi

Vivaldi by Alfredo Russo at the Sheraton Creekside Hotel is celebrating the season with their special Roots and Bulbs menu. Showcasing seasonal produce, including some ingredients specially imported from Europe, the menu boasts dishes like salt baked onion with gorgonzola cheese and a wonderfully crispy celery root Milanese. Round off the meal with chocolate fondant that’s served with a truly amazing parsnip ice cream.

2. Tortuga

Mina A’Salam’s vibrant Mexican restaurant is whipping up a fiesta this Christmas with their festive menu. Choose from a selection of starters including their special Christmas salad and warm Roasted Pumpkin Soup. Follow that up with a comforting Sweet Potato Stew and finish up with a classic Pumpkin Pie or crunchy Churros.

3. Zero Gravity

Located the Dubai Marina, Zero Gravity has unveiled a new winter menu. Dishes include Caprese Salad with heirloom tomatoes and aged balsamic, and Blue Cheese Polenta Cake with grilled asparagus and tomato fondue. Desserts include a Fruit Punch cake with winter berries that’s sure to put you in a festive mood.

4. Alta Badia

Take your Christmas dinner to new heights at the Italian restaurant with a view in Jumeirah Emirates Towers. The festive menu includes Pumpkin Soup with Truffle Tortellini and Chestnut Tagliatelle, combining the best of Italian cuisine and classic Christmas ingredients. For dessert, you’ll be stuck for choice between traditional Pandoro or Caramelized Nut Semifreddo.

5. The Black Lion

A gastropub doesn’t seem like the ideal destination for a veggie-friendly Christmas. At The Black Lion, however, there’s Roasted Squash Soup with pumpkin seeds and Baked Squash with chestnuts & black beans to provide some veggie wholesomeness to your Christmas celebrations. They’ve also got a Yule Log for a perfectly festive finish.

6. La Serre

La Serre gets into the Christmas spirit with some great festive drinks and a selection of Yule Logs in different flavors (must be pre-ordered), including Chocolate Raspberry and Mango & Passion Fruit. Enjoy these alongside their a la carte vegetarian menu, which includes an amazing tortellini, delicious salads and a mouth watering baked aubergine.

7. Reform Social & Grill

Once again, a gastropub makes our list, offering some veggie-friendly Christmas dining! Reform Social & Grill, located at The Lakes, has a Christmas brunch featuring dishes such as Mushroom, Leek and Chestnut Wellington. The dinner menu feature select items from the brunch, along with English Stilton Tartlets and a Mushroom Pearl Barley Risotto. Don’t forget to leave room for dessert, including a Cherry Yule Log and Christmas Pudding!
